First 2017 is a Snow Hunt!

As discussed at the meeting on January 11th, we will have a Snow hunt at the Dundas Driving Park on Saturday, March 11th.  Further details will be discussed at the February 8th REMDA meeting.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year and give us lots of snow by then. In the past years the conditions were very poor on the hunt fields. So we always ended up having our hunts at the Beach later in April. But they worked well too, we would just pretend the sand was snow and all worked out fine. This will be good practice before the big Southern Ontario Beach Hunt, plus it will get us all in shape for hunting our favorite spots when the weather gets warmer.  We will be planting silver and prize tokens in the snow for you to find.

There will be some serious hunting in the snow and it will be lots of fun!

10am Arrive & set up
11am First Hunt – Silver, Prize Tokens, and clad
12 noon Lunch – pizza (paid for by REMDA) will be available; bring a desert to share and drinks for yourself
1pm Second Hunt – Silver, Prize Tokens, and clad
2pm Go home with your goodies

Things to bring: handful of clad to add to the hunt (no pennies please), a token prize (value between $5 to $10), your detector, your usual detector tools, dessert to share and beverages for yourself.

Dundas Driving Park is one of the oldest parks in Dundas. Seriously, you should Google it for more information. Many Find’s Board items came from this park. To get there, see the map below for more detailed directions and use “Streetview” to see what the area looks like.
